A new kind of writing tool from Kakimori, this desk pen pairs a ballpoint pen with its own stand, settling into any space like a sculptural object, ready to write at any moment.

Inspired by a droplet of water, its form echoes a buoy floating on the sea — named in the hope that it might become a landmark for writing, quietly awaiting the writer in its place.

Crafted from solid Japanese cherry, its rich grain and natural warmth give the pen a gentle, inviting presence. Whether shared among family members or placed at a communal desk, the pen feels equally in the house or the office as a symbol of the space it inhabits.

The front cone is crafted in brass, finished with a clear coating to harmonise with the hues of Japanese cherry.

Where tradition and industry meet

The pen body and stand are crafted by a workshop in Kumano, Hiroshima Prefecture, with over 60 years of history producing wooden handles for Kumano brushes. The front cone is made by a small manufacturer in Tokyo, specialising in components for medical equipment and semiconductors.

A writing tool born from a meeting of traditional craft and industrial production, where workmanship is found in every detail.

Designed to endure

The pen comes fitted with the Schmidt easyFLOW 9000 medium refill. The slightly bolder line weight is well suited for signatures, while the low-viscosity oil-based ink delivers an effortlessly smooth writing experience.

Designed for easy replacement of the universal G2 refill, the pen ensures years of writing pleasure.
